I teared up a little with this chapter. I swear.
This book has me so mixed up. I mean, clichés and all, but twists and turns man! This is what 'genre fiction' should be. I shouldn't have to skim a book to get the good bits, I should be able to read all the text and not feel weighed down, beat over the head or missing out.
Mercy is a bit repetetive, but she's also hardboiled, so I forgive her.
I also get the feeling these books work well as stand-alones, which is neat. It means I can read them between more cumbersome books and still get what's going on.
Also, Mercy's paw tattoo Is cool.
I like how Patricia Briggs writes.
